Graduation Day

November 29, 2018 · Leave a Comment

After months of hard work, sacrifices and determination, graduation day happened for three women from the New Beginnings’ Hair and Makeup training. Five girls initially began with the program, but three stuck to the end and have been rewarded for it.

The graduation ceremony happened at a nearby garden, celebrating the women with food and drink, speeches filled with pride, plus handing them the much anticipated diploma which is a sign of appreciation for sticking through to the end. Congratulations for having the courage to do the hard work and showing the world that getting back up is possible after you fall!

The two top students were rewarded with makeup kits to add on to the startup kit they were given on the final day of class in October. These two mama’s showed great improvement and professionalism in the work they were given over the course of the six months.

With the mama’s graduating and moving on to start their own business and some looking to get employed in the hair and makeup industry, this meant that the preschoolers have also graduated as the preschool was set to help provide a safe environment for the children while their mamas were being trained. So, in the end Tuesday the 26 of November, was a double graduation day.

We would like to thank everyone that took time to support this group with prayer, makeup donations and also in all kinds of monetary form. These past 6 months of training, counselling and graduation wouldn’t have been possible without your help, Zikomo!

We are excited to see what the future has in store for the women and also where God will lead us next, we will keep you updated on both.
